“Sooo,” the cambion drawls with a grin as the guard’s footfalls and lantern light fade away, “You come here often?” she asks, her tone of voice more befitting of a meeting at the local tavern than the jail cell holding them until their hanging in the morning.

The woman says nothing. She simply stares at her blankly, sadly, before casting her golden gaze away.

The cambion’s eyes, however, widen, “Huh...” she murmurs, and tilts her head as if to follow the woman’s vision, before straightening up again with a frown. “How’s some divine soul like you wind up in a place like this?” A slight mocking tone colours her words as she says the word divine, “I thought—”

At that the woman’s head jerks up and her eyes go wide, “Wh-wh-wh—”, she begins to stammer, cutting the blue woman off, ”How do you—?”

The cambion barks with laughter, ”How?”

Panel 1: A closeup of the cambion woman, lit from behind by the warm lantern light, grinning at the other woman good naturedly. “Sooo, d’ya come here often?” she asks.

Panel 2: A closeup of the other woman staring at her blankly and not saying anything. Her eyes are golden in colour.

Panel 3: She looks away with a sad expression. The light on her face has gotten dimmer.

Panel 4: The cambion’s eyes widen, and the lantern light is almost gone, replaced with deep blue nighttime hues.

Panel 5: An extreme closeup of just the other woman’s eyes, noticeably glowing in the absence of the lantern light.

Panel 6: ”... huh,” the cambion says with a frown, leaning sideways to look.

Panel 7: She straightens up, “Now how’s some divine soul such as yourself wind up in a place like this? I thought that—”

Panel 8: “WH-WH—?!” the woman looks up suddenly in distress, “Wh-how do you?!”

Panel 8: “How??” the cambion retorts with a bemused expression.
