I looked at horsegirl pictures for this piece. Not that I know what a "horse" is though? The pictures were weirdly empty, like these "horse"girls seemed to be interacting with a nonexistent creature. So I put a chicken there ^_^

My that's a big ... Rooster
Ahaha that's a hen actually! You can tell the difference by the feathers. There are some breeds of chicken that have unique feathers like silkies and frizzles that the feather tell doesnt work, but hens have short blunt rounded feathers while roosters have sharper and longer feathers, particularly on their tails where they have long sickle feathers. obvi theres some phsyiological differences between the giant fowl in the comic and their smaller cousins, but the feather stuff remains true!
Thanks. My personal experience of chickens is very limited
My wife, who ran a chicken farm, says "a rooster's comb could be bigger. A hen probably wouldn't have wattles. It varies a lot from breed to breed."
Most hens have wattles! It's part of how chickens regulate temperature, there are some breeds that don't have been bred to have almost entirely absent combs which also inhibits wattle growth, so they don't have much of either, but hens do have wattles and usually combs, they're just not as large and prominent as a rooster's. This particular hen was based off of jersey giants, here's a hen, and here's a rooster. As you can see, they both have a comb and wattles, but the rooster's are larger, and the feathers of the rooster are a very different shape to the hen's.
Looking forward to the second chapter! These bonuses are beautifully illustrated and I'm happy to have them tide us over in the meantime :)
